Review of The Hunchback of Notre Dame II (2002) by Dylan D — 03 Jul 2008
A very lazy picture. Literally, everything about this film is lazy. The direction, the attempt to get it marketed by theaters, and the voices. Tom Hulce, Demi Moore, Jason Alexander all seem bored with themselves. Is Jennifer Love Hewitt the only actress that feels blessed to be famous? From the looks, or sounds of this movie, it appears so. Love Hewitt's Madellaine is the only voice with any life in it. If there ever is a moment of sadness that wells up inside you, it's when Madellaine cries to Quasimodo for forgiveness.
There is a sequence in the movie where Quasimodo asks his friends if they believe in miracles. Hopefully, they do, because a miracle is exactly what it's going to take to bring Disney back from the grave.
