Review of The Hudsucker Proxy (1994) by Neil D — 29 Apr 2008
Awesome Film! Great characters and acting all round - especially from J.J. Leigh's who makes this film so much more enjoyable.
The film serves as an enjoyably surreal representation of a american corporation whilst injecting romance and humour (i laughed out loud on many occasions).
Somehow the Coen Bros (and Leigh) made the formal 1950's diologue extremely energetic, witty yet belivable! IMO the dialogue easily rivals that of Quentin Tarantino's finest films.
Along with Fargo this is my favourite Coen Bros film! Although i'm eagerly awaiting No Country For Old Men to be released on DVD.
