Review of The Hudsucker Proxy (1994) by Karthik N — 05 Jun 2008
Those that have watched a few Coen films will come to realise that none of them really fall into a specific genre. While "black comedy" is possibly a good approximaion I like to think each film sits on a spectrum between "crime/drama/thriller" and classic comedy.
This one is closer to the comedy end, but the themes of self-advancement and class struggle are as evident here as they are in gritty thrillers like Fargo.
