Review of The Hudsucker Proxy (1994) by Steven M — 06 Jan 2010
I totally bought into the story and understood early on that this was a homage/satire. I admire the Coens (and Raimi) for their energy and conviction. You just have to listen to the detail in the script, note the turned-up-to-the max performances and look at the amazing sets to know that they cared.
I find they often just have interesting looking actors in their films and that alone sets them apart. A very stylish, eccentric film that, in my opinion, was often misjudged on its release.
