Review of The Hudsucker Proxy (1994) by Mark D — 07 Feb 2010
Initially on the viewing I was deeply dissapointed. The beginning at times felt parodic and cartoony and not at all what I was expecting. Anyways that all changed when Jennifer Jason Leigh entered the film and blew every other actor out of the fuckin movie.
HEr performance was inspired. She nailed what she set out to accomplish and made this film alot more watchable then it could have been. Newman is underused and Robbins is.....average for a lead role. By the end though it is all worth it and it does have moments of genius, but not as many as other Coen films like 'Miller's Crossing' and 'Big Lebowski'.
Jennifer Jason Leigh gets the 3 stars.
