Review of The Howling (1981) by Bob O — 03 Nov 2007
Next to An American Werewolf In London, Joe Dante's The Howling stands out as one of my favorite werewolf movies of all time.
Dee Wallace is excellent as a TV news reporter on the trail of a vicious serial killer stalking Los Angeles. After agreeing to meet up with him, she discovers there's much more behind the mutilated bodies that have been piling up.
Featuring excellent special effects by Rob Bottin, The Howling is loaded with in-jokes, humor and plenty of horror. Avoid the sequels. See it!!!
