Review of The Howling (1981) by Kelly B — 14 Mar 2008
The film actually has a rather original and inventive plot (for its genre) and the make-up/special effects are top notch, but as the film progress it becomes more and more unfocused and messy, resulting in a cheesy and ludicrous horror film rather than a clever and witty one that its beginning seemed to suggest.
Horror fans, I feel, will have a hoot with this one, while others may want to check out "An American Werewolf in London" instead, as its similar in tone but manages to actually be both funny AND frightening.
