Review of The House with a Clock in Its Walls (2018) by Aiden W — 13 Oct 2018
Yes, it's a kiddies' movie, but strangely enough, besides me there were only 6 ladies who were all in her sixties inside the cinema. Nobody else, no kids, even though it was an early afternoon session.
And, judging from the laughter, we all had a good time as the flick is quite enjoyable for adults (or elderly folks) as well. It's a silly horror comedy with spook levels lowered to a kid's attitude which makes it possibly scary for kids and quite humorous for anybody else.
It's a sweet mix of horror stories without the "Yak"-vomit disgust, using great visual effects to let young and old become part of it. Thumbs up for a typical light Jack Black flick. Good for a lazy Sunday afternoon.
6/10 points.
