Review of The House with a Clock in Its Walls (2018) by Tj S — 27 Sep 2018
What I liked most about this movie is that it had a feeling of nostalgia for me and I can't quite put my finger on why. This movie feels like a Halloween movie from my childhood back in the 90's and that isn't a bad thing.
Reminiscent of a Hocus Pocus or the first two Harry Potter movies. The movie displays themes of family and not traditional family but making a family out of those who are there with you and that being weird should be embraced not criticized.
Overall this was a fun family flick for the Halloween season. The only downside (and this is probably for the kids) is Roth's toilet humor that is thrown in several times throughout the movie. I didn't need that to enjoy myself.
