Review of The House with a Clock in Its Walls (2018) by Bradley A — 20 Sep 2018
This movie was truly great! It reminded me of nostalgic movies from my childhood, but with current cgi. I think the best part about it, is that it is set in the 1950's giving it a great esthetic, much different then other movies like it.
Its not just fun for children, but adults too, and the comedic parts actually assume the viewer is intelligent enough to follow along with the plot, understand the jokes, reference back to previous jokes, without treating the viewer like an idiot who can't use common sense and understand stuff on there own-this is where it shines the most.
The acting was great, especially the kid actor Owen Vaccaro, he even stole the show from Jack Black and Cate Blanchett in some scenes!
