Review of The House with a Clock in Its Walls (2018) by Aditya V — 21 Sep 2018
This movie was amazing. Jack black killed it and so did the rest of the cast.
The film was much darker than I anticipated. There were many references to Lucifer, which for a kids movie seems a bit off. There was also a number tattooed on Mrs. Zimmerman's wrist which I caught briefly, it was seriously only about half a second. I think maybe she was a holocaust survivor. Being able to pick up on these little things really put a grave amount of depth to the movie and added to the fun.
Besides the dark, the movie was filled with a lot of humor which I appreciated. Also loved to hear Jack Black whistle "Classico" under his breath, an homage to Tenacious D.
A must see film, forget what the critics say and go see for yourself!
