Review of The House on Skull Mountain (1974) by Brad G — 24 Feb 2010
What starts off as a Black House on Haunted Hill quickly descends into Serpent in the Rainbow-lite. Voodoo rituals that go on and on and on and onâ?¦and on. But itâ??s not all bad. Thereâ??s a fantastic matte painting of Skull Mountain (cast in fog and darkness even in the middle of the day!) and there is a machete fight set to bongo drums to break up the doldrums.
But racially confused Victor French is just not that charismatic a lead and you never really care what happens to him or the woman he lusts after. Not garbage, just meh. VF.
