Review of The House of Yes (1997) by Nathan W — 01 Oct 2005
[font=Arial][font=Verdana][color=white]This adaptation of Wendy MacLeod's stage play is too idiosyncratic for its own good; the dialogue is annoyingly wry, the characters are aggravating dolts, and the many subplots involving incest and murder are grossly miscalculated.
Plus, Mark Waters' direction is so paint-by-numbers that the film never becomes more than a play-on-film. Parker Posey, however, is superb, while a good portion of the supporting players are miscast.
