Review of The House of the Devil (2009) by Brok S — 09 Jul 2011

Here's a surprising movie indeed. Set in the 80s, House of the Devil even feels like it was made in the 80s, with that slow pre-CGI narrative. A refreshing piece in these stressful times. If anything, it grows too slow at times, the pace mellow just shy of dragging, but that only makes the actual events much more powerful when they happen.

An enjoyable film and a tributary throwback to more simple times.
