Review of The House of the Devil (2009) by Keith B — 20 Oct 2010

To it's credit, House of the Devil does a convincingly good job at NOT being a horrible horror flick built on cheap scares and gore. Unfortunately, the horrible acting and well over 80 minutes without any significant suspense drags this movie down.

It's a shame too, as I really had high expectations considering this was a critically acclaimed horror flick, and I do tend to line up with the critics when it comes to the genre. I will say the last 15 minutes or so was really good, and the ending did leave me wondering exactly what I had just watched.

..overall, I'd recommend it in place of your standard slash 'n go films, but it's not really worth more than that.
