Review of The House of the Devil (2009) by Jamie B — 01 Sep 2012
If you've read the blurb to the film then you've read the whole synopsis. The only thing of real interest is the genuinely authentic 80s setting where nothing has been left out: the opening and closing credits, the costume, the soundtrack, the grain of the film, absolutely everything.
But that wears thin after about 10 minutes of thinking "Oh wow, this really does look like some piece of crap 80s movie like Offerings or Mongrel". In fact, it becomes all to apparent that filming it as a homage to the 80s might have been a neat way to cover up a tired and dated format.
