Review of The House of the Devil (2009) by Bobby K — 05 Jun 2013
Its themes are most definatly familiar with those who know the genre this film is recreating, but they are given savage new life in this wonderfully suspensefull film by talent to watch Ti West. Almost every action that the team who created this film has done feels like it wants to create a horror film from the eighties that would never have existed, and it pulls off this task beautifully.
The acting is top notch especially from Ms. Donahue who carries the film almost entirely on her shoulders. A haunting film that is somewhere between Polanski and Carpentar.
