Review of The House of the Devil (2009) by Senor C — 28 Oct 2010

I had heard a lot of good things about House of the Devil (Roger Ebert even liked it) so I held off watching it until near the end of Shocktober thinking it would be one of the better things I watched.

Needless to say I was disappointed. A throw back to the 80s technically Ti West does a good job but there's really not a lot going on until the last 15-20 minutes. I was constantly watching the timer click by feeling cheated by the second.

A hell of a lot better then a majority of the hyper violent shit & remakes that horror fans have been inflicted w/ over the past 15-20 years but I was a little unsatisfied & it ended up making me say 'hmmm' instead of 'yeah!'.

.@ least the Fixx song was really good; I hadn't heard One Thing Leads to Another in years.
