Review of The House of Mirth (2000) by Lucia S — 29 May 2007
The story has so much potential but Terence Davies was so slow developing the film. It just screamed to have better flow and a muscial score! While Gillian Anderson was brilliant in her interpretation of this doomed heroine and the rest of the cast was good as well, it always felt that the film was lacking something else.
While Gillian Anderson never got her Oscar nod for this film will always elude me.
