Review of The House Bunny (2008) by Dead A — 03 Mar 2010
'The House Bunny' is a 2008 American romantic comedy film. The Movie Storyline/Plot is about finding family. Shelley Darlingson was raised in an orphanage, finally happy when she blossoms into a fox and moves into the Playboy Mansion. Unfortunately, she's summarily expelled on her 27th birthday (she's now too old). In desperation she takes a job as house mother for a sorority of misfits losing their house for lack of members. They have but a few months to find 30 pledges, or a sorority of mean girls will take over their place. Shelley figures that girls will pledge a house that boys find interesting, so she sets out to make the Zetas alluring, not act too smart, and host great parties. Can she succeed, and what about her own makeover? Sabotage is everywhere, plus it's hard to be one's self. The Movie Tagline is "Brains, Beauty and Bravery these girls got it all... They just don't know it yet" and "They wanted a role model. They got a Playmate", which the first pretty good & the seconded show what its saying about the film and is clever. The Trailer is really decent & very funny when I fisted watched (Before coming out in the cinema), but when seeing it took alot of funny bit out (shame) and the Poster is great shows the main characters while a very thin Anna Faris (which she had to lose 30 pound, which she did for the role, which I think she look's sexy & gorgeous). Went to see this at the Cinema/Picture with my Big Sister on 14th/10/2008 (came out on 10th/10/2008).
The Film is a very girly movie/ chick flick teen movie, but dose say alot for itself and is a great Comedy, Romance & Teen/Chick flick Movie, To me I think 'The House Bunny' is one of the funniest Film of the year (2008) & probably the decade (2000-2010), it's soo cleverly done & very charming, Anna Faris as Shelley Darlington make this Movie soo funny with here comedic jokes & performance and makes the Movie very entertaining (Well Done to here), I love the back story of the film of Shelley Darlington its ace & witty, it's very stylish, the theme & type of the element in the movie is brilliant, The Movie is really, really Utley funny with an acted of stupid-ness of Anna Faris, while she's really sexy & slim in these & has never looked better, the film has soo alright special effect, but has really fake showing in the film, it's totally fabulous & sexy in every way in a Teen/Chick flick film, the genre is a Comedy & Romance is fanatics in this Teen/Click Movie and takes a piss out of abit from the film Forest Grump. The Music is aswome in the film as having hippy 2008 really modern music, while the sound/background music is good, very great colour use in the film & the costumes & design, The funniest bits in the Movie are the bit where Anna Faris and the sorority sister do a car wash & where Anna Faris character is being smart but falling over ever where and say all stupider funny jokes soo funny, Anna Faris is the most funniest Bunny every she such a talented comedic actress of our time & generations and may not be everyone's taste but it is my taste and I loved every minutes of this film is very funny.
The Movie was made on a budget of $25 million, while grossing worldwide at the Box Office of $70,442,940 which had past its budget & did pretty well at the Box Office, while on DVD its started out slow, but became a huge hit on DVD sales & rentals. The Movie was mixed by critics (both Positive & Negative on both equal sides), but Anna Faris performance was praised by most critics (which is excellent), while audience, moviegoers & fans alike (of the director, actor/actress or the genre/type of the movie) was mostly mixed as well (on both side). The Movie was distributed by Columbia Pictures & Happy Madison (Both studio Worldwide).
The Film cast line-up are young talented and is a teen film for the young generation actors and they are; Anna Faris as Shelley Darlington (which is her 2nd best comedic performance, while the first being the Scary Movie films, in 'The House Bunny' she is soo funny as the idiot/poking funny out of Playboy girls, while showing women that have no confidents she a brighter life, as she starts to get smart & choice the right decanis, she is smart, sexy, very fucking funny & soo talented as a comedic Actress), Colin Hanks as Oliver (Tom Hanks son, which he was good), Emma Stone as Natalie (Funny, smart & a decent actress), Kat Dennings as Mona (which she like Emo/Gothic type character into a beautiful babe and very talented funny actress), Katharine McPhee as Harmony (soo funny as the man voice/ look of a man), Rumer Willis as Joanne (daughter of Bruce Willis & Demi Moore, which she was funny and pretty good actress), Kiely Williams as Lily, Dana Goodman as Carrie Mae, Kimberly Makkouk as Tanya, Christopher McDonald as Dean Simmons (Funny), Beverly D'Angelo as Mrs. Hagstrom (Evil, nasty, but funny), Monet Mazur as Cassandra, Tyson Ritter as Colby, Sarah Wright as Ashley, while cameo appearance from the Playboy man who started it all up Hugh Hefner (which he was alright, just seem of putting), while having the three main Playboy mate of the three girlfriend of Hugh Hefner; Holly Madison, Kendra Wilkinson & Bridget Marquardt as Herself (which shortly after the movie there to gave, but all very good friends) and the rest of the unknown cast. The director Fred Wolf did a pretty cool & stylish film with great cast group (for the young teen audience) and has a beautiful set of a storyline/plot into the film & is perfect.
Overall The Movie ending is great where Anna Fearis dose an angry deep evil laugh as the ending as with the Song 'Where my ZETA at' was pretty well song by the lead girl cast and was a great finish of a Fairytale like ending with alot of funny moments in there to. The Movie is a different MUST-SEE for anyone who loves Comedy/Romance/Teen or Chick Flick Movies, while is mostly for Teenagers, but can be for everyone to watch, The Movie is a prefects blend of humour in this funny sorority movie and is a classic in my eyes (while I think it will become a Cult Classic soon in the near future). The film was a huge laugh out loud laughs all the way through and enjoyed every minute of the film. Lv It!!!
(I really like this movie I seen it at the cinema and made me laugh soo much my sister had 2 tell me to shut the fuck up. This movie has some massive laugh in every single bit in the movie different one for comedy and Anna Faris the cast were great but This had to be one of Anna Faris best comedic performance every (Same with all Scary Movie Film) aswome funny film Lv It!!).
