Review of The House Bunny (2008) by Monzi S — 01 Aug 2010
For a film that seems appealing the House Bunny is a huge disappointment. It goes from promising to plop. The House Bunny is cliched, shallow and forgettable. However Anna Faris puts on a decent performance and is quite likeable, but there's not much else which is right with this film. Even though the story is original, it appears to be just another average chick flick. I don't think it's particularly well written and apart from Anna Faris, the cast was nothing spectacular. Also the film can?t decide on the message it gives out and ends up giving the wrong one, that you have to be attractive to be noticed. It's an all too familiar dumb flick it's not terribly funny either. However the film wasn't completely terrible. It's watcheable with a few decent bits, but it's just one of those films that are OK when there's not much else to watch.
Grade: D+.
