Review of The House Bunny (2008) by James S — 27 Dec 2010
This movie really plays like a who's who of tomorrow's stars. Anna Faris, Emma Stone, Kat Dennings, these are going to be the women who headline movies for the next 10-15 years. Add to that performances from AAR frontman Tyson Ritter and singer-actress Katherine McPhee and film veterans Christopher McDonald and Beverly D'Angelo as well as cameos from Hugh Hefner, Shaq and Matt Leinart and you have a phenomenal cast who all give grade-A performances.
Makes you really wish they had something to work with in the script. The movie seems to be trying so hard not to be formulaic that it really doesn't go anywhere, or maybe tries to go everywhere at once.
That said, its harmless fun and there are certainly worse ways to spend an hour and a half.
