Review of The House Bunny (2008) by Emerson B — 10 Aug 2013
This is a fun little movie. The House Bunny follows an innocent sex kitten (however much a paradox you want to consider that is your problem) and her attempt to fit in to her new college environment after being removed from her luxury and lush at the Playboy mansion.
This is a parody on the hookup culture coming from those who've established it in the first place. I like the film's sense of positivity in that the heart of being accepted by others is being who you are.
To those who say the film is dumb and melodramatic, you'd be mostly right but you definitely miss the puns that are just so silly that eventually they become funny. It's laughter at ourselves and showing the world of sex we've come to love and despise at the same time.
