Review of The House (2017) by Jak-Luke S — 23 Jul 2017
Cohen's debut feature film isn't the catastrophe many are boxing it into. It has a whole host of issues, but ultimately will satisfy its intended audience. The issue is its comedy, it the lowest form of Witt and holds no weight at all.
Never is their a clever or smart joke used, all are just stupid dumbfounded leading to a rather boring affair. The performances are ok from both Ferrell and Poehler, both have good chemistry and their respective wit is well utilised but unfortunately the latter isn't used enough and it feels more like the formers film.
