Review of The Hottest State (2007) by Nolan F — 14 Dec 2007
I can only hope the book was better than the movie. I really did not care for this. My biggest complaint - the main character was a huge brat. I didn't care about him, his feelings, his emotional problems, etc.
I also didn't really buy that the two main characters were ever in love, which made it all the more painful to watch. Throw in the fact that characters were used as plot devices and you end up with an overall mess of a film.
The only redeeming factors were a few well-shot scenes. But those were so overshadowed by my complete dis-like for nearly everything else I was watching that it didn't matter much.
