Review of The Host (2015) by Dan H — 26 Nov 2013
Terrible script, mediocre acting, and badly executed. Saorise Ronan and William Hurt are the only stand-outs here, but it's not enough to save the film. It's more watchable than the Twilight films, but The Host is still far from a good film.
There is little chemistry between the three romantic leads, the film drags itself over the finish line, and what's worse there is actually a germ of a good idea here but director/writer Andrew Niccol once again fumbles the ball as only he can.
Why does Hollywood keep giving this guy chances? Overall, The Host is a skip it.
