Because this movie is based on the novel written by Stephenie Meyers, author of the Twilight Saga, people have negative impressions before even watching this movie. But I have to say that I enjoyed this movie more than the Twilight Saga. I find this movie to be more meaningful. I've read the book before watching the movie, though I don't remember the exact details because I read it a long time ago.

What I like about this movie.

1. I find this movie meaningful. The themes about the state of things on Earth, conquerors, survival, sacrifice etc is very interesting. This movie has prompted me to think about such issues.

2. The story of the movie was well-explained, and I believe that the audience need not read the book to understand the movie.

3. The flow of the story and editing were smooth.

What I did not like about this movie.

1. Well, the action scenes were pretty much non-existent, though I guess that this is not an action movie.

2. As usual, in typical YA/ Twilight fashion, characters fall in love awfully fast.

3. The second body of the Wanderer! OMG! The second person looks so different from what I had in mind from the book's description!

4. Just saying, the way Melanie's uncle's wife treat Wander in Melanie's body really gets on my nerves. I understand the reason for her behaviour but well, she just remind me of people who are so stuck on their opinions and/or beliefs that they won't consider (mind you, not change but consider), other alternatives.

Conclusion:

I enjoyed this movie and would recommend to fans of Stephenie Meyer's works.
