If you can manage to sit through the first 30 minutes, it actually becomes a fairly decent movie. However, I can see why the book was so much greater than the film. The Host really needs to be understood, the story between the alien and the girl still stuck inside becoming a part of each other seems like it would better explained and more beautiful when read.
