I know a movie taken from a book usually doesn't live up to a reader's expectations but this one felt like it barely tried. The book was way less mushy but still had a heart, and it was much more suspenseful than the film.
Why, did they shy away from the suspense? It would have given the film a little more depth. Disappointing.
