Review of The Hospital (2013) by Pierluigi F — 07 Feb 2014
Sick...twisted...gut-wrenching....but in the best of ways. I tried my best to avoid spoilers on this film as much as possible before viewing, because all I knew ahead of time was that it was full of plot twists. I also knew going into this, it was going to be disturbing to watch. It didn't disappoint. This is a film in the category of "We don't give a f**k how you feel, you're gonna watch this and you're gonna be sickened.".
From a critical standpoint, I have to point out that most of the acting is sub-par, but some shining stars in this film are Daniel Emery Taylor, Jim O'Rear, Jason Crowe, and Alicia Clark. The kills are nauseating, and some of them actually hilarious. Some of the production value seems to be cheesy as well, but what can you expect from a soon to be cult classic B-movie?
From an artistic standpoint, I have to give this film a thumbs up. If someone can make a film like Hostel, then why can't they make a film like The Hospital?
All in all, if you want to get some of your friends together and have an unusual viewing experience, do yourself a favor and check this one out. You won't walk away from this feeling the same ever again.
