Review of The Horseman on the Roof (1995) by Paul D — 13 Jun 2009
The setting makes for a wonderful depiction of social turmoil in 19th century Provence although the story doesn't quite reach the same heights as the scenery. While not a conventional love story, that is the overriding theme, although several sub-plots are dominant as well, however the lack of pace in the film is a problem for them all.
