Hmmm . . . where to begin? There is a lot to love about this film. First, it stars the beautiful and talented Juliette Binoche. Second, her co-star is yummy. Third, Gérard Depardieu appears in a brief cameo.
And finally, the production value of this film is off the charts. It is truly a joy to look at. And the story starts out promisingly enough. But the pace is so leisurely that the end SUCKS. I mean really, WTF? It's like they ran out of time and/or money.
It's worth a look, but don't get your hopes up. One small spoiler for the men in the crowd: Ms. Binoche does get a brandy massage at one point.
