I'd find this film very touching, very dramatic, and a bit sad, too. The Horse Whisperer touched my heart for its story. Following a devastating riding accident, a young girl and her beloved horse now both bear serious physical and emotional scars. Seeking help, the girl's desperate mother travels west and into the country. There she meets a rancher who has a unique gift of animals. When I first saw this movie, I knew it was great to escape the big-city life for ranch life even for a way to escape grief. It's not boring or anything close to that - it was very powerfully good.

Based on a novel by Nicholas Evans and directed by the award-winning Robert Redford, the acting performances from the following cast are good:

1.) Robert Redford (Tom Booker).

2.) Kristin Scott Thomas (Annie MacLean).

3.) Sam Neill (Robert MacLean).

4.) Dianne Wiest (Diane Booker).

5.) Scarlett Johansson (Grace MacLean).

6.) Chris Cooper (Frank Booker).

Plus, Kate Bosworth plays the ill-fated friend of Grace, Judith, in the opening scenes. Nice to see her even though this was too short of an appearance.

Like I said earlier, The Horse Whisperer is very touching, very dramatic, and a bit sad, too. It's also a memorable credit for Robert Redford - I want to see more of his movies.
