Set in the American Civil War, John Wayne plays the leader of a long-distance Union cavalry raid into Confederate territory. Loosely based on a real action, this film seems a little too chivalrous to be entirely plausible.
A John Ford film though, and even his lesser efforts keep you hooked until the end.
