Review of The Holy Mountain (1973) by Kivernitis I — 16 Mar 2008
Pense que te gustaba huevon.
This movie demands repeated viewings. Jodorowsky is an expert symbologist and he every scene in the movie provokes a new meaning and a new consciousness.
It's perverse, funny, horrifying, arcane, sacrilegious, spiritual, beautiful, depraved. There's midgets, rape, rebirth, challenges, love, sex, murder. It's a mosaic of the life of the mind with colour, action, mime, and music.
Maybe it takes a trip into acid laced euphoria to come out open minded enough to get where this movie really comes from.
Or maybe you just have to have a wild taste.
I love it!
