Quite honestly, this is the most fucked-up, terrifying movie you will ever see. I do not get nightmares, usually, but one viewing of this film was enough to keep me having nasty nasty dreams for weeks.
Alejandro Jodorowsky is one of the greatest art filmmakers of all time. He carefully imbues even the most obtusely bizarre moments with enough symbolism to make them seem pertinent. That said, it's often gross, consistently creepy, and always, always strange.
The opening scene in particular is the kind of thing I NEVER want to see again. Everyone interested in the art film movement of the 70's should check this out just so they can say they endured it.
A lot of people might even love it. All I can say is it confused me and scared me and I shudder remembering it. DO NOT watch this stoned.
