Review of The Holy Mountain (1973) by Chris K — 24 Apr 2009
Too my own suprise I did not like this more than my love "El Topo." Mainly becuase this delves, for me, way to far into surrealism and I don't like very surreal films. Not to short change it though, it was suberb.
The visuals are so bizare and beautiful, where else do you see jesus getting hit by fat romans while following a midget with no limbs? The ending is one of the most unique and tohught provoking endings I have ever seen.
I will watch this again and try to enjoy it more, understand it more. There is something there.
