Review of The Holy Mountain (1973) by Andrew K — 26 Jul 2008
Densely symbolic, satirical, hallucinogenic, meditative, shocking, and strange. No one's wit is sharp enough to know how much of each Jodorowsky is employing at each moment. Jodorowsky's films are are more a visual/audio experience of the mind than a movie.
Calling this film "really weird" or "a drug film" short changes it's majesty. One of the great achievements in surrealist, and psychedelic (as in mind expanding, not drug influenced) films.
