Wonderful movie! In the vein of The Family Stone and Home for the Holidays, The Hollars is funny, touching, and strikes a chord of family resonance -- the existential pull and connection between family members.
Margo Marinade is outstanding. Perfect casting there. In a sea of mindless movies filled with explosions and VFX, The Hollars is a life raft of heart and truth, buoyed by life's absurdities. And the soundtrack by Josh Ritter is amazing! I really don't understand the criticism it's getting.
