Contrary to many people's opinion, I absolutely loved this movie and still indulge every time it is shown on tv. Far fetched? Yes - but this is the movies after all where strange coincidences do happen. Is it a pure chick-flick? Probably - but that does not mean that a man cannot enjoy it or even learn from it.
Essentially, it is a movie about relationships - those that work and those that don't as well as anything in-between. And it is not just based on romantic relationships but also friendship, support and admiration - latter concerning the neighbour of one of the ladies although it is the visitor who makes the connection and strikes a rather unlikely and unusual friendship.
Should you bother watching it? In my mind - definitely!
