Review of The Holiday (2006) by Despina G — 29 Dec 2013
The fact that this is a major chick flick aside, I enjoyed a few aspects of this film. First the house trading because that is something I have actually been able to experience. Then, I really liked Eli Wallach's character who was a screenwriter from Hollywood's Golden Age.
I would like to meet him. Furthermore, Jack Black's character is a composer who knows a lot about film scores and there is a great sequence in the dvd store. I've experienced my share of Santa Ana winds as well.
I guess these touches made it more personal for me and I appreciated that even if the film itself was not great.
