Review of The Hole Story (2011) by Private U — 09 Feb 2008
I think this is a clever -- like an Adaptation for the IFC documentary set.
People who are drowning in their own misery tend to not be very likable, or achieve very much, or have the balls to showcase their troubles to the world. That makes it a very brave and rewarding film if you give it a chance.
It's especially interesting to see how the resulting TV show (in the DVD extras) differs from the process that got him there.
