The stretching of the story is a bit more evident in this film as compared to the first, but it really isn't detrimental to the overall success of the film. This is pure cinema greatness.....engaging and beautifully filmed.
Performances are all top-notch. I don't feel that the addition of Tauriel (the new elf) was necessary, but it worked.
