I loved the first Hobbit and saw nothing wrong with it. The Desolation of Smaug is a masterpiece and makes the previous installment look like crap. Peter Jackson's interpretation of Middle earth seems to be more and more breathtaking every film.
This could very well be one of the best movies in the saga.
