Review of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013) by Mario M — 20 Feb 2015
Being a fan of the whole saga, I was very disappointed with the way the story is developed in the movie, as Peter Jackson takes you back and forth from essential, intense scenes to dumb and only mildly entertaining ones (which don't even exist in the book), interrupting the former and affecting the pace of the movie.
Way too long. Smaug suffers from severe ADD. Apart from all those negatives, the cinematography is beyond amazing, and the first half of the movie is almost flawless.
