Review of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013) by Clayton P — 29 Sep 2014
Thought this was epic, really enjoyable film. I'm a massive Tolkienist and couldn't work out why the first film was full of differences to the book, but after seeing this one I can see why it needed to be done.
If you're a Tolkien purest don't knock the film due to changes and addition's, take the film for what it is and you will love it. Its full of action, humour, wonder and excitement, Peter Jackson and co.
have done a fantastic job of recreating wilderland and the added parts are totally relevant to the story.
