Review of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013) by Hadi S — 29 Dec 2014
So.
I haven't seen the first movie of the Hobbit, so I wasn't exactly understanding the story fully. Other than that, I enjoyed the movie quite a bit. It was exciting, intense, and had a variety of different scenarios, which is one of the biggest things I look in an action/fantasy movie. I especially liked the intensity of the last few bits where the bunch of elves and the old lad went into the dragon's cave with all the gold. The intensity was high, it would leave you at the edge of your seat. However, not the entire movie was all this great. There were several scenes were I had no idea what was going on, and this was evident in the part where the two taller men where standing on barrels and shooting arrows through orgs (I forgot what they were called).
After all, I liked the movie on the action and how the directors made the parts so intense, so interesting.
Overall: 82/100.
Stars: 4/5.
