Review of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013) by Adam T — 27 Jun 2016
As with "An Unexpected Journey", the theatrical release of "The Desolation of Smaug" was brilliant but lacked scenes from the original story which I expected to see visualised; the Dwarves introduction to Beorn, and the Mirkwood river scene.
As ever, the extended edition did not fail to deliver and the story so far is complete.
Also, not specific to the extended edition but... Smaug! - sheer perfection in a dragon. He makes this film.
