Review of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014) by José Carlos Á — 20 Jun 2015
"The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" is belittled again by its over reliance on special effects (which also seem poorly developed in some instances) and some poor writing (specially when dealing its original love triangle). However, the promised large-scale war, with all of its spectacular lengthy battles and detailed build-up, and the still amazing acting (especially that of Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, Evangeline Lilly and Luke Evans) more than enough to entertain and to set up the path for its already released sequel.
In the end, "The Hobbit" trilogy earns a reasonably satisfying note. It depends way too much on CGI and has some other fails but they, however, are not enough to rob this series from all of its entertainment, nostalgic feel and great performances.
