Review of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014) by Dj M — 23 Aug 2015
Usually when you come into a movie with really low expectations the movie surprises you in some way that makes it more enjoyable than you thought. Not so with TH:TBOTFA. Somehow, miraculously, the movie managed to disappoint me even more than I thought it would. It wasn't just worse than I expected though, it was horribly horribly worse.
I am really grateful that Natalia boycotted us seeing it in the theater. I don't think I could live with myself if I had spent theater money or points on this.
Should I air my gripes or just let is stand that this bloated, fan-fiction, plot-weak movie was a disappointment. I gave it one star because every now and then the cinematography was beautiful and Martin Freeman was still a wonderful Bilbo.
